We are pleased to announce that Northwestern University will again recognize outstanding high school teachers at its 2015 Commencement with the Distinguished Secondary Teacher Award and we congratulate your candidate and school.
Please nominate a teacher that had a transforming effect on you as a student. Teachers should be in a full-time teaching position, as the award includes a prize for their current school.
On the next page, you will be asked to give us some basic information (teacher’s name, subjects taught, etc) as well as submit an essay on the impact this teacher had on you and your educational experience. Your essay should be no more than 500 words please.

The Distinguished Secondary Teacher Award Committee will select up to 15 finalists to be interviewed during the week of February 10th. Winners will be notified in April of 2015. Winners will be honored during Commencement Exercises (Wednesday, June 17th to Saturday, June 20th).
Arrangements will be made for the winners and their guests and the winner will be awarded a prize of $2500 and a prize of $2500 for their school.
Nominations are due by December 1, 2014 at 11:59 PM CST.
