We are pleased to announce that Northwestern University is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Distinguished Secondary Teacher Award (DSTA), a prestigious honorific given to several outstanding high school educators each year.
Winners of the award are selected based on a process in which graduating seniors nominate teachers who have had transforming impact on students.
If you are a Northwestern University senior and would like to nominate a teacher with whom you took a course in high school for the Northwestern University Distinguished Secondary School Teacher Award, please start your nomination by clicking on the "Nominate Your Teacher" button below.

500 words on the impact this teacher had on your educational experience.
You will be asked to give us some basic information (teacher’s name, subjects taught, etc.), as well as submit an essay on the impact this teacher had on you and your educational experience. Your essay should be no more than 500 words.
The priority deadline for nominations is December 1, 2015 at 11:59 PM CST
- Teacher must be working to advance the field of education at the time of nomination
- Student nominator must be a Northwestern senior graduating by Spring of 2016
The Distinguished Secondary Teacher Award Committee will select up to 15 finalists to be interviewed during the week of February 21, 2016. Winners will be notified the week of April 4, 2016, and arrangements will be made for winner and their guests to be honored during 2016 Commencement Exercises (Wednesday, June 15th, 2016 to Saturday, June 18th, 2016).
